William Booher Shoemaker

d. 17 Apr. 1905

Civil War veteran enlisting at Cumberland Gap and founder of Cove City, Crawford County Arkansas. William married Susan Edmonia Karnes 27 Nov. 1850. William was the son of James Shoemaker and Malinda Booher. James Shoemaker, was a farmer in the Cloud's Station community of New Tazewell, a Civil War Veteran and a  Methodist (South) Minister in  Claiborne County, Tennessee. James was the son of Daniel Shoemaker and Mary Easley of Sullivan County, Tenessee. Malinda was the daughter of William Booher & Lydia Frederick of Scott County, Virginia.

d. 22 Mar. 1902 in Chester,Crawford County, Arkansas.

Susan was the daughter of Andrew Karnes and Eliza Howry, originally of Botetourt County Virginia, then Hawkins County Tennessee and finally Washington County, Arkansas. Susan E. married William Booher Shoemaker of Claiborne County on Tennessee 27 Nov. 1850.
